About the role

Reporting to the Manager, civil Marine Assets, our client is currently looking for a Civil Maintenance Supervisor to oversee management of construction contractors, facilitate contractor delivery to plan and ensure construction compliance.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the overall on-site performance and coordination of construction activities
  • Coordinate onsite safety inductions
  • Assist with the preparation of scopes of work and specifications for tender and construction purposes
  • Coordinate document control, material procurement, warehousing and testing to ensure compliance
  • Establish and maintain internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of strategic and operational objectives
  • Assist the Project Management Team and the Manager of Projects Services with the preparation of budget estimates and work schedules
  • Coordinate, prepare, implement and review permits, risk management plans and job safety analysis prior to work commencement

Skills and experience

  • Hold trade Qualifications in Civil, Building or Construction discipline
  • Builders licence desirable, but not essential
  • Demonstrated experience in project supervision and contract administration
  • Proven coordination and supervisory skills with experience in managing in an industrial environment including knowledge of Equal Opportunity principals
  • Good written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations relating to construction and maintenance
