About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Civil Engineer
to contribute to the planning, design, delivery, and maintenance of major transport infrastructure projects across Queensland. You'll play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient, and sustainable development of the state's road and transport network.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will apply your technical expertise to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest engineering and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional civil engineering advice and support in the design, delivery, and maintenance of transport infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
- Review and assess engineering designs, technical reports, and project documentation for compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of road infrastructure projects from concept design through to construction and completion.
- Undertake investigations, surveys, and assessments to inform design and construction decisions.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and local authorities to ensure the effective integration of engineering solutions.
- Monitor project progress, costs, risks, and quality to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
- Support the development and implementation of asset management and maintenance strategies for transport infrastructure.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with workplace health and safety, environmental, and quality assurance standards.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to graduate and junior engineers.
You are a detail-oriented and outcomes-driven Civil Engineer with strong technical skills and a collaborative mindset. Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
- Eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia and/or RPEQ registration (or ability to obtain).
- Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design, construction, or project delivery within the public infrastructure or transport sector.
- Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards, design codes, and transport infrastructure specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in a complex project environment.
