An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our dedicated maintenance team. You'll be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and efficient operation of mechanical assets within the water and sewerage network.
This hands-on role offers variety, stability, and the opportunity to work with modern equipment in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on water and sewerage pumps, treatment plants, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Perform minor electrical maintenance (within licence limitations).
- Supervise and mentor apprentices as required.
- Participate in an on-call roster and work overtime when needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and documentation in line with company standards.
- Work safely at all times and comply with WHS policies and procedures.
- Undertake additional duties aligned with your skill level as directed.
You're a proactive tradesperson who takes pride in your workmanship and understands the importance of reliability in water infrastructure. You enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
What You'll Bring
- Trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner or Mechanical Fitter
- Restricted Electrical Work Licence
- Manual 'C' Class driver's licence
- Construction Industry Safety Induction Card (White Card)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proven fault-finding skills
- Experience in pump maintenance or the water/wastewater industry (highly regarded)
- Knowledge of WHS practices and quality assurance procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- HR licence (advantageous)
