The Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager for one of our clients based on the northside of Brisbane. This is a leadership role overseeing daily production and logistics at their nursery site.

This role is responsible for leading supported employees, achieving production goals, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring smooth continuity of stock and customer orders. You will work closely with the Nursery Production Manager and Dispatch Manager, ensuring efficiency across production, inventory control, and order assembly.

A horticulture background or qualification will be highly regarded, but we also welcome applicants with strong experience in bulk logistics or warehouse management , as these skills are highly transferable.

The role is both leadership-focused and hands-on . You will supervise and support a work team, contribute to quality and safety compliance, manage inventory records, and ensure that production goals and customer requirements are met.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise daily production activities and assembly of customer orders
  • Organise equipment, machinery, and staff to meet production targets
  • Support and mentor employees, delivering on-the-job training as required
  • Monitor and maintain quality and safety standards across operations
  • Ensure smooth stock movement, order flow, and dispatch coordination
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and contribute to quality accreditation
  • Liaise with managers, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues effectively
The Candidate
  • Degree/Diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field (ideal but not essential)
  • OR proven background in bulk logistics or warehouse operations management
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid knowledge of safety standards and procedures
