Our client is seeking multiple Science Technicians to join their innovative research programs in Brisbane. These roles offer the chance to contribute to important projects in:
- Entomologist (Part-Time) – insect identification and related research
- Fruit Fly Research Technicians (Full-Time) – postharvest disinfestation and preharvest management
- Conduct laboratory and field research trials.
- Collect and record research data accurately and maintain confidentiality.
- Prepare, clean, and maintain laboratory and field equipment.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining fruit fly colonies (fruit fly role).
- Travel to farms, orchards, and regional research facilities for field trials (may include interstate and overnight travel).
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture and uphold safety and ethical standards.
- For the fruit fly role, you will work at both Dutton Park and Cleveland according to trial schedules.
- For the entomology role, you will be based at Dutton Park.
- Science background with skills/interest in entomology or fruit fly research.
- Experience in research trials (desirable).
- Ability to work outdoors.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
- Good communication skills.
- Diploma or degree in agricultural science, applied science, rural science, or related field (or equivalent).
- Current “C” class driver’s licence.
- Willingness to work out of hours/weekends and travel away from base location (including interstate).
