AWX are seeking an experienced carpenters to join two local projects at the Southern end of the Gold Coast. This role is a crucial part of the construction operations of this project, it involves carpentry tasks for the successful delivery of current projects.

THE ROLE

• Carpentry work and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
• Ordering materials & equipment to fulfil carpentry duties
• Ensuring the correct installation and maintenance of site safety measures including handrails, bunting, fencing to ensure the public's safety
• Site cleaning and maintenance
• Executing quality workmanship, problem solving and implementing necessary corrective actions to finish the task
• Communicating regularly with leading hand
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
• Assisting with the implementation of the carpentry scheduling and construction activities
• Someone with a cert 3 or trade certificate in carpentry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively work within the team
• Strong problem-solving with a focus on finding practical solutions
• Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials and equipment, as well as relevant health and safety regulations
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications

• Certificate III in carpentry, a trade qualification in carpentry or extensive trade assistant experience
• Ability to read and interpret plans
• Good level of physical fitness
• White Card or construction blue card (physical copy)
• Willing to commit to Monday to Friday day work with possible Saturday work.
• Reliable transport to get to and from the depot.
• Relevant competencies
