AWX are currently recruiting for an Australian owned company specialising in asphalt production, road surfacing, and maintenance. With over 30 years' experience, they deliver quality, sustainable solutions for projects of all sizes, from highways to local roads, using ISO-certified practices and modern equipment. What you'll do
Within this role as a HC driver you will be required to safely transport trailers and equipment to the scheduled destinations. You will also be required to complete labouring tasks such as shovelling and brooming. During this time you must be willing to work away 1-2 weeks at a time with a living away from home allowance paid. You will love the stability of consistent hours working Monday to Friday as well as plenty of overtime and weekend hours available. You will carry out duties such as:
- Safely towing and transporting trailers to designated locations
- Loading and unloading trucks manually using pallet jacks and by hand
- Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, including sweeping, brooming, and shovelling
- Operating trucks to deliver equipment efficiently and on schedule
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Communicate and work effectively within a team
- Be willing to work away from home 1-2 weeks at a time
What you'll need
Whilst holding a HC Truck Licence (Heavy Combination), you will also possess the following:
- Hold a current construction white card
- Be physically fit to perform labouring duties such as shovelling and brooming
- Be willing to pass drug and alcohol testing
- Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards
- Ability to follow company procedures and delivery documentation
- The capability to withhold and maintain a clean driving record
