AWX are currently seeking an experienced Machine Operator for our clients Sand Drying & Processing plant located within the Redlands.
About the role
A well-established manufacturer of packaged mortars, cements, and specialty sands is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join their team at a large blending and packing facility located 30km south of Brisbane within the Redlands. The site includes both a modern Dry Mix plant and an adjacent sand quarry.
The company supplies high-volume bagged products-including cement, concrete, mortar, and decorative aggregates-to major hardware and plumbing retailers throughout Queensland. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the drying and preparation of various sands and gravels using rotary dryers, a sand washing plant, and other mobile equipment. You'll work closely with the production team to ensure materials are processed efficiently and meet quality standards for packaging.
This is a hands-on, dynamic role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of their workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Machine to feed raw materials into rotary dryers.
• Manage the drying process, including monitoring temperature, moisture levels, and overall dryer performance.
• Operate and monitor a sand washing plant and, as needed, a mobile screening plant.
• Organise and maintain stockpiles of raw materials for ongoing production use.
• Liaise with production staff to adjust sequencing and scheduling based on factory requirements.
• Identify and respond to changing plant conditions and adjust operations accordingly.

• Experience operating Machines in an Industrial Environment (Sand / Gravel - Highly advantageous)
