About the role
A well-established manufacturer of packaged mortars, cements, and specialty sands is seeking an experienced Operator for its large Dry Mix facility and adjoining sand quarry, located 30km south of Brisbane in the Redlands. The company supplies high-volume bagged products to major hardware and plumbing retailers across Queensland and is part of a stable, Australian-owned construction materials group.
In this hands-on role, you'll manage the drying and processing of sands and gravels using rotary dryers, a sand washing plant, and mobile equipmentworking closely with the production team to ensure efficient, high-quality output. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in owning their workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a loader to feed raw materials into rotary dryers.
- Manage the drying process, including monitoring temperature, moisture levels, and overall dryer performance.
- Operate and monitor a sand washing plant and, as needed, a mobile screening plant.
- Organise and maintain stockpiles of raw materials for ongoing production use.
- Liaise with production staff to adjust sequencing and scheduling based on factory requirements.
- Identify and respond to changing plant conditions and adjust operations accordingly.
What We're Looking For
- Experience operating loaders, screeners, or similar mobile plant (training can be provided to the right candidate).
- Ability to work with or learn PLC-controlled equipment.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to adapt to production variability.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a focus on producing consistent, high-quality output.
