The Role
We are seeking a Planning Officer (GIS) to join our State Government client in Berrinba. This role is ideal for someone with strong GIS and planning skills who thrives in a busy, detail-focused environment. This is a temporary full-time ongoing role until June 2026.
As the Planning Officer (GIS), you will lead the creation of maps and spatial data to support aerial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead map creation and spatial data delivery for aerial treatment operations.
- Supervise a specialist team, manage performance, training, timesheets, and leave.
- Train staff in procedures, ensure compliance, and maintain documentation.
- Allocate and monitor work, troubleshoot issues, and manage resources effectively.
- Plan and prioritise tasks aligned with operational goals and the department work plan.
- Track progress, identify resource needs, and support future planning.
- Contribute to high-quality reports and operational insights.
- Apply geospatial knowledge to support aerial operations and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate and refine job creation workflows for efficiency.
- Maintain working knowledge of relevant systems and participate in system testing.
- Identify and resolve procedural inconsistencies and drive process improvements.
- Provide responsive customer service and maintain accurate records.
- Export, review, and organise data for reporting and decision-making.
- Experience with ArcGIS or other GIS software.
- Background in customer service or operational administration.
- Ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
