The Role
We are seeking for a Senior Project Officer to join our client, a State Government department, in Berrinba. This is a temporary full-time opportunity.
- Develop and apply project management skills to plan, deliver, and evaluate aerial treatment projects.
- Supervise and lead a small project team to ensure effective and efficient project delivery.
- Coordinate, report, and track project deliverables and risks to ensure successful outcomes.
- Manage project data recording processes using program systems, including mapping, field data capture, and integration into National Fire Ant Eradication Program IT platforms. Ensure data is collected, stored, analysed, and reported with sound governance.
- Provide technical advice to large landholders in treatment areas, including fire ant management strategies such as risk mitigation, surveillance, treatment, and reporting.
- Plan and coordinate engagement activities with landholders to support aerial treatment and ensure land-based treatment of areas not covered by aerial operations.
- Represent the program at workshops, field days, meetings, and other engagements to promote fire ant management activities and compliance.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across the program.
- Strong supervisory and people management skills.
- Extensive experience in operational delivery within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Current GIS mapping skills.
- A current, unrestricted ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa that permits you to work in Australia.
- Be available for occasional weekend work as required.
