Chopper Gun Operators required for local manufacturing facility right in the middle of the Gold Coast.
You will be working 05:00 13:30 Monday to Friday with optional overtime paid at penalty rates.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading manufacturer supporting the mining sector. As a Gel Coat/Chopper Gun Operator, you will play a crucial role in making the product and finishing fibreglass mining accessories to the highest-quality.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and applying gel coat to stainless steel mould surfaces using a chopper gun
- Chopping and spraying fibreglass reinforcement materials onto prepared stainless steel mould surfaces
- Ensuring the correct application of gel coat and fibreglass materials to meet quality standards
- Trimming the product when at the desired consistency.
- Maintaining equipment and work area cleanliness to support efficient and safe production
- Collaborating with the production team to meet daily output and quality targets
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and productivity
What we're looking for
- Must be a Citizen of Australia or have permanent residency as this will be a temporary role with a view to a full time position.
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol test
- Demonstrated experience as a Gel Coat/Chopper Gun Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of chopper guns and other related equipment
- Ability to read and interpret production specifications and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the production team
- A positive, proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
