We are seeking an Operational Officer – Workshop Fabricator to join our client in Toowoomba, State Government. This is a temporary full‑time position for 6 months, with the potential to be extended.
The role supports the production of mobile response trailers through hands‑on workshop fabrication, light electronic tasks, and general workshop duties.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the fabrication of mobile response trailers, including measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembling steel components.
- Perform low‑voltage wiring, basic electronic work, and equipment installation.
- Operate general engineering workshop machinery such as grinders, saws, drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and portable hand tools.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment, following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Support additional workshop tasks as required to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Requirements
- Experience in steel fabrication, low‑voltage wiring, and using general engineering workshop machinery (cutting, drilling, machining, grinders, saws).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safe workshop practices, including correct PPE use.
- Hold a valid C‑class driver licence.
