The Role

We are seeking a Plant Engineer for one of our clients, a leading packaging company, located in Narangba.

As the Plant Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of plant equipment, ensuring production targets are met safely and consistently. You will lead maintenance planning, manage technical projects, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to optimise plant performance.

You will work closely with the Production Supervisor and Maintenance Technicians to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise downtime, ensuring the plant operates at peak efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on plant efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Coordinate with Production Supervisors and Maintenance Technicians to align maintenance schedules with production demands.
• Manage plant engineering projects, including equipment upgrades and new installations.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

• Tertiary qualification or trade certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Proven experience within a manufacturing or packaging plant environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial machinery and automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
• Experience working with CMMS systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
