The Role
We are seeking a hands-on OHS Officer to join our client in a permanent, full-time role, supporting the setup of new production operations involving new machinery.
This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a love for clear documentation, and a proactive approach to implementing safety and quality standards from the ground up.
Key responsibilities
- Writing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new production processes
- Coordinating and documenting risk assessments, including risk assessments for new machinery
- Assisting with the development of safety, quality, and operational systems
- Managing safety inductions and leading toolbox talks
- Ensuring compliance with WHS regulations and maintaining relevant safety registers
- Collaborating with production and operations teams to formalise workflows and best practices
- Managing document version control and ensuring easy access to all procedures
The Candidate
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within plastic or packaging production
- Proven ability to write structured, user-friendly procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally
