AWX is seeking a Plastic Technician for a well established food packaging manufacturer with 20+ years of industry success. As part of our clients continued growth, they are excited to be launching a new Queensland facility and are now seeking experienced Plastics Technicians / Machine Setters to join their production team.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient, high quality production outcomes.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
  • Programming and setting production machinery using knowledge of polymers, additives, and materials
  • Inspecting, calibrating, and regulating machines to maintain optimal performance
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting machinery used in plastic manufacturing
  • Conducting routine quality checks including dimensions, hardness, colour clarity, and appearance
  • Preparing production and maintenance schedules to minimise downtime
  • Monitoring waste levels and working to keep them within allowable limits
  • Maintaining accurate production and operational records
  • Coordinating workflow to meet production targets
  • Ensuring all OH&S, HACCP, food safety, and housekeeping standards are consistently met

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Proven experience as a Machine Setter / Plastics Technician
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands on troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced production environment
  • A proactive, self motivated attitude with strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
  • Sound understanding of HACCP and food safety requirements
  • A valid Forklift Licence
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the business
