"I should've done it sooner"
Mohamed grew up in Brisbane and had never lived anywhere else. When he first landed in Mount Isa he remembers thinking, “Where are we landing? Desert area… what’s going on?” At first, it felt quiet but the longer he stayed, the more he started to enjoy it and meet people in town.
Work’s been great too, “I got a job at the local mine as an operator. Everyone’s amazing and nice.” Life outside work is just as good: BBQs with mates, trips to the lake, 4WD weekends and hitting the gym.
“I originally planned to come and check it out but I’m already hooked,” he said. Mohamed shared he’s definitely saving more money. “In Brisbane you spend a lot of money,” he said. With rent, groceries and fuel all much cheaper in Mount Isa, especially sharing with mates. Small town, no traffic, everything’s close and he reckons he should’ve moved here years ago.
City prices?
Forget it. Isa’s different.
