Construction recruitment

Steve and the crew sort your civil and construction workforce when the job ramps up. They get to know your site, roll up their sleeves and supply reliable people who can handle the hours, conditions and pressure – so you can focus on running the job, not chasing labour.

What you can expect

Orange number 1.

One point of contact

Steve and his team are your one point of contact. They learn how your site runs, what the job actually needs – no need to explain yourself twice.

Orange number 2, with distressed texture.

We're on site

Wherever possible, Steve and the crew are on site. You can’t understand a job unless you’re boots are on the ground.

Orange number 3.

Get to know your site

Steve and the crew dig into the project and match the right people to the right job. They know their workers and who suits big builds, small crews, short runs or long hauls so you get it right first time.

Orange number 3.

No ducking calls

When something goes pear shaped, Steve and the crew pick up the phone and sort it. No ducking calls. That’s why clients call him first for the next job.

Being a true partner means that we have to understand what clients are trying to achieve and what the project's about so we can match the best candidates to the roles. Some candidates suit smaller clients, some candidates suit bigger clients. It's knowing our people, our clients and what they need so we can get the best match the first time.

I’ve been working with AWX for 12 years. They’re somebody that listens to our wants, takes in what we say and delivers what we are chasing, you know, and no bullsh#t, tells the truth. That's the main thing.

Civil and construction FAQs

  • Are your workers site ready, safe and compliant from day one?

All AWX workers are compliant from the get go, it’s non-negotiable. As a construction recruitment agency, we verify white card and role specific tickets, relevant civil and construction experience, site and project inductions, medicals, drug and alcohol testing and any visa compliance. We find people who know construction sites, understand safety and can work without being baby sat.

  • How quickly can you supply workers to site?

We move fast. With local crews and an active pool of construction ready workers, we can often mobilise people once you’re set up with AWX.

  • How does a civil and construction labour hire agency onboard workers?

AWX’s employees are fully registered and screened prior to stepping on site. Onboarding includes skills and experience checks tickets and licence checks, references. AWX make sure crews are site ready, reliable and the right fit for civil and construction environments, so you’re not carry the risk of downtime.

  • What happens if a worker isn’t the right fit on site?

If a worker isn’t the right fit for your civil or construction site, we fix it, fast. AWX replaces them to keep your project on track.

  • Can labour hire support multisite or large infrastructure projects?

AWX supports a number of clients across multiple sites, high volume and large infrastructure projects across civil and construction. We scale crews across multiple locations, staged project rollouts across long term and short term works. With one point of contact, consistent standards and boots on the ground, we’re a partner rather than another employment agency.

  • What types of civil and construction projects do you support?

As one of Australia’s experienced civil construction recruitment agencies, AWX supports projects including civil infrastructure, commercial and industrial construction as well as local, regional and major projects. From metro cities to regional sites, we supply workers who understand civil construction and get the job done.

  • Can AWX scale crews as project needs change?

Yes. Labour hire allows you to scale crews up or down as work ramps up, stages change or deadlines shift. AWX plan workforce changes with you so the project keeps moving.

  • Does AWX supply construction labour Australia wide?

Yes. With local branches across Australia and a national candidate network, AWX supply construction labour to metro, regional and remote sites while staying close to the work.

  • What’s the difference between labour hire and subcontractors in construction?

Labour hire workers are employed by AWX and supplied to your site, giving you consistency, flexibility and support without the admin. Subcontractors operate independently. Labour hire works best when you need reliable people quickly to scale up your operations.

  • How does AWX handle weather delays or sudden schedule changes?

Construction doesn’t always go to plan. When weather or site conditions change, AWX work with you to pivot the workforce quickly, adjusting crews as needed so the job keeps moving when conditions allow.
