No two sites are the same

We don't want to be that labour hire provider that just parachutes a body in and set and forget. And we want to be embedded in the client's business, have a good understanding of what the client really wants.

say we treat them like an actual person (not a number)

You’re not just another number on a timesheet

You’ve got a local AWX contact who knows your job, checks in and sticks around once you start. It’s the human way we do labour hire and how we’ve built our reputation.

“It's really nice to be able to just go and see a person face to face, whether it be at one of our offices or out on site. It's really hard to feel supported if you never see the people who you're employed by. Being face to face is really important for both the candidates and the clients.”

Placed in work

On your first day, you’re not on your own. We check in, sometimes meet you on site and make sure you’re set up. And we don’t disappear once you start, we check in and back you while you’re on the job.

Orange quotation marks.

“It's nice to feel like a valued employee rather than just a number. Labour hire tends to get a wrap for treating people just like numbers, putting bums in seats. So we want to be different to that and we want our people that are out on site to feel like our employees and not just another number.”

FAQs

  • How does AWX differ from other labour hire providers?

AWX goes beyond filling shifts. We take the time to get to know you, match you to the right job and continue to back you once you’re on site. You’ll have a local contact you can actually get hold of, not a call centre and not radio silence after day one.

  • Can I get steady work or just the odd shift?

If you want full time hours, we’re big enough to keep you working. Some jobs are short term, some are longer term and we’re upfront about that from the start and look ahead to what’s next wherever possible.

  • What happens if the job isn’t the right fit?

It happens, we get it. If a job isn’t right, we want to know early. We’ll have the conversation and work with you to find a better fit rather than leaving you stuck in a role that’s not working.

  • Will anyone check in once I’m on site?

Yes, your local contact will check in once you’re out on site. We don’t disappear after you’re placed in work. We check in, sometimes meet you on site and stay in touch while you’re working. If there’s an issue, you’ve got a local AWX mate to call.

  • What happens after my first job?

We don’t just place you and disappear. We’re constantly in communication with you so that when one job finishes, we’re already looking at what’s next. The more we work with you, the better the fit gets.

  • How do I get paid and how often?

AWX processes pays for all labour hire employees weekly. Your local contact will explain rates upfront, walk you through timesheets and how to submit these – that way, everything is correct and you’re paid on time.

  • How quickly can I start?

Once you’re registered with AWX, we can start teeing up work. The registration includes uploading your compliance paperwork, licenses, tickets and any site requirements so we have all of the info on hand. Some roles can start quickly, others take a bit of more time depending on checks and site requirements. We’ll be upfront about timelines and keep you in the loop.

  • How long does the application take?

Once you’re registered with AWX, applying for work is quick. Once you’ve submitted your details, we’ll review your application and get in touch if it looks like we would be a good fit.

  • Can I move up?

Absolutely. Some crew move into permanent roles with our clients, while others take on traineeships or apprenticeships to level up their skills. We’ll back you to grow where the work and opportunities make sense.
