AWX is seeking Leading Hands, Concreters, Finishers, Steel Fixers, Formworkers & Labourers for ongoing Townsville-based projects.
About our Role
AWX is partnering with an established construction contractor delivering a strong pipeline of civil and commercial concrete projects across Townsville and surrounding areas. With ongoing work ahead, we are looking to build experienced crews across all levels from skilled Concrete Labourers through to experienced Leading Hands.
We are particularly interested in Townsville locals looking for consistent work, as well as experienced workers from outside the region who are looking to relocate to Townsville for longer-term opportunities.
Please note: relocation and accommodation assistance are not provided. Candidates relocating will need to arrange and fund their own move and accommodation.
What you'll do
Depending on your experience and role, duties may include:
• Leading and coordinating concrete and formwork crews
• Setting out and preparing formwork
• Steel fixing and reinforcement
• Placing, screeding and finishing concrete
• Working across slabs, panels, walls, kerb, channel and pavements
• Reading and interpreting plans
• Operating hand tools, finishing equipment and small plant
• Site preparation and general concrete labouring
• Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship
• Working safely as part of a high-performing construction crew
What you'll need
• Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Concrete Finisher, Concreter, Steel Fixer, Formworker or Concrete Labourer
• Construction White Card essential
• Current C Class Driver's Licence and reliable transport
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
• Ability to work varied start and finish times when required
• Civil and/or commercial concrete experience highly regarded
• Relevant trade qualifications, RII competencies and additional plant tickets are advantageous
• Leading Hand applicants must have demonstrated experience leading or coordinating concrete/formwork crews
