We are seeking an experienced Environmental Supervisor for a contract opportunity with a leading global mining company based in North Queensland.
This role offers a long-term engagement through to May 2027, providing the chance to work on a large-scale open-cut coal operation while leading environmental compliance and performance on site.
This position is ideal for a hands-on environmental professional who thrives in a fast-paced mining environment and enjoys mentoring others while ensuring best-practice environmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and mentor the Environmental Officer and Environmental Graduate
- Provide onsite environmental supervision
- Undertake environmental monitoring, reporting, and compliance management
- Deliver operational environmental support to site teams
Role Details
- Roster: Monday to Friday (or Monday–Thursday depending on preference)
- Work Arrangement: FIFO, DIDO, or residential (Middlemount,QLD)
- Flights: Charter flights available
- Transport: Provided between site, airport and camp
- Accommodation & Meals: Camp accommodation with meals provided
- Proven environmental experience, ideally within open-cut coal mining
- Demonstrated experience supervising on a coal mine
- Strong understanding of Queensland environmental legislation
- Working knowledge of EPBC Act requirements
- Ability to obtain and operate a Light Vehicle on an open-cut coal mine (manual licence preferred)
