We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Farm Hands to join our Government client for work out of the Leslie Research Facility
Leslie Research Facility is an important long-term strategic DPI horticultural and cropping research site.
The facility serves DPI, External and Commercial co-operators over a vast geographical area in the Inner, Southern, Western Downs, Maranoa and northern NSW cropping areas.
The Farm Hand role includes but is not limited to:
- Support the day-to-day operations at and from the DPI, Leslie site, focused on the delivery of trial support, with key responsibilities in asset and resource maintenance, and delivering high quality service to all clients.
- Work independently and with other staff following instructions from supervisor and/or Facility Manager in the successful completion of tasks to support research projects, both on and off station.
- Undertake agricultural agronomic activities including land preparation, irrigation installation and operation, planting, harvesting, weeding, chemical application, care, and maintenance of field grain crops.
- The candidate is required to operate highly technical and specialist equipment such as plot harvesters, planters, tractors, and spray equipment with GPS guidance systems.
- Maintenance tasks including servicing of equipment and upkeep of the premises and field trial sites.
- Work in a safe environment following Occupational Health and Safety guidelines and the Departments Code of Conduct.
- Mandatory minimum HR licence required.
