About the Role
You will work as part of a dedicated field team conducting surveillance, mapping, treatment , and eradication activities in rainforest and remote environments .
What you'll do:
- Conducting field surveillance and treatment in rainforest terrain
- Safely using tools such as machetes, spray units, chainsaws, and GPS equipment
- Walking long distances daily (up to ~15 km), including steep and challenging terrain
- Carrying equipment, food, and water for full-day field operations
- Supporting team-based field operations, including safety and emergency responses
- Communicating with landholders, stakeholders, and program staff
- Working safely in tropical conditions and around wildlife and hazardous flora
About You
You're practical, resilient, safety-focused, and comfortable working in demanding outdoor environments. Local applicants from Mossman , Port Douglas & and surrounding areas encouraged to apply
What you'll need
- Experience in intensive outdoor or field-based work (bushland, rainforest, farming, labouring or similar)
- Strong physical endurance and ability to work in harsh weather and terrain
- A strong commitment to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)
- A current open manual QLD C-Class licence and reliable transport
- Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol testing and a Physical Functional Assessment
- Ability to obtain and pass a National Police Check
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency (proof required)

- Roles available year-round until 2028-2029, with potential extension
