We are recruiting multiple entry‑level Laboratory Technicians for our client to support their expanding metallurgical testing operations.
These casual roles offer full‑time hours with ongoing work and the opportunity to build a long‑term career in a technically specialised and growing industry.
You will carry out metallurgical test work in line with required standards and gain hands‑on experience using a variety of laboratory equipment, including gravity, magnetic, and electrostatic separation equipment, heavy liquid separation processes, and portable XRF analysis tools.
This role involves both physical sample handling and precise technical work, including calculations, accurate equipment setup, and detailed data recording.
Key Responsibilities
- Sample handling, preparation, and organisation
- Mineral analysis and characterisation
- Equipment setup and verification, including basic calculations for feed rates and slurry concentrations
- Conducting metallurgical test work using a range of laboratory techniques and equipment
- Operating, monitoring, and analysing pilot‑scale processes under continuous full‑scale conditions
- Accurate data logging, interpretation, and reporting
- Supporting new test work programs, equipment commissioning, and process development as required
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, metallurgy, or a laboratory/technical background (beneficial but not essential)
- Confident with basic mathematics and applying calculations in real‑world scenarios
- Practical, hands‑on attitude with a strong willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing project requirements
- Able to work both independently and as part of a laboratory team
- Physically capable of manual tasks, including lifting, moving, and processing large samples
- Strong attention to detail in sample preparation, equipment setup, and data recording
- Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one (desirable but not essential)
- Full Australian working rights
