AWX is seeking reliable Forklift Operators and Dockhands to join a busy freight and logistics company based in Carrara. These casual roles offer short morning or afternoon shifts, making them ideal for students, people with family commitments or anyone looking for part-time hours.
Current Vacancies:
- 1 x Forklift Operator
- 1 x Dockhand
Shift Times:
- Morning Shift: 5:00am to 9:00am
- Afternoon Shift: 1:00pm to 5:00pm
- Most shifts are approximately four hours
Shift availability will depend on the vacancy available at the time. Please clearly state in your application whether you are available for the morning shift, afternoon shift or both.
Forklift Operator Duties:
- Operating a forklift to load, unload and move freight
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Sorting and staging freight for dispatch
- Assisting with general dock and warehouse duties when required
- Ensuring freight is handled safely and carefully
To be considered for the Forklift Operator role, you must hold a current LF Forklift Licence and have a minimum of 12 months' forklift operating experience.
Dockhand Duties:
- Loading and unloading trucks by hand
- Sorting, scanning and staging freight
- Checking labels and consignment details
- Working alongside drivers and forklift operators
- Keeping the loading dock clean, organised and free from hazards
- Handling freight of varying sizes and weights
What We Are Looking For:
- Physically fit and comfortable with repetitive heavy lifting
- Reliable and able to commit to the required shift times
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling throughout the shift
- Previous warehouse, freight or logistics experience is preferred
- Own reliable vehicle and transport to get to and from work
- Valid Australian working rights
