Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team based in Eagle Farm. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through to manufacturing and workshop support.
Working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you' will play a key role in designing complete mechanical systems while working closely with manufacturing partners and workshop personnel to deliver practical, high-quality engineering solutions.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of mechanical systems, supporting projects from initial concept through to fabrication and assembly.
This role offers a great mix of design, technical problem-solving and hands-on engineering, making it ideal for someone who enjoys seeing their designs come to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Design complete mechanical systems from concept through to detailed design and validation.
- Produce high-quality 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
- Work closely with external manufacturers to obtain quotations and coordinate fabrication.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders throughout project delivery.
- Support workshop fabrication and assembly to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Apply design-for-manufacture principles to deliver practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to continuously improve designs and processes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Approximately 3-5 years' experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Strong proficiency using SolidWorks.
- Experience designing complete mechanical systems.
- Sound knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and welding processes.
- A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering and manufacturing teams.
- The ability to manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced environment.
