About the Role
An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Estimator / Estimating Manager to lead and optimise the estimating function within a fast-paced, structured residential environment.
Working with established Databuild templates and a defined panel of subcontractors, you will play a key role in driving cost accuracy, improving margins, and increasing estimating efficiency across a portfolio of repeatable builds.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a template-driven, data-focused environment and is looking to step into (or further develop) a leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review cost estimates, BOQs, and take-offs using Databuild
- Maintain and optimise cost libraries and estimating templates
- Analyse drawings and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Monitor estimated vs actual costs to improve future pricing accuracy
- Manage subcontractor pricing within a fixed panel environment
- Lead and mentor a junior estimator, with scope to grow the team over time
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across pre-construction and delivery
- 5+ years’ experience in residential construction estimating
- Background in volume home building, investor/developer builders, or similar environments
- Strong experience using Databuild (highly preferred)
- Proven ability in BOQs, cost planning, and template-driven estimating
- Commercially astute with a focus on margin and efficiency
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Leadership capability or readiness to step into a team leadership role
