AWX in Cairns are currently seeking a TO2 Officer (Compliance) to join a dedicated team assisting with the delivery of biosecurity programs across the region.
This role is 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday , and will involve both field and administrative duties supporting biosecurity monitoring, compliance and risk management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the team in delivering operational goals in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Support stakeholders in managing biosecurity risks relating to diseases, pests and invasive species
- Conduct field monitoring, surveillance, auditing and treatment activities
- Gather and record routine data and information
- Assist with investigations into potential legislative breaches and chemical residue impacts
- Collect field evidence including observations, samples and witness statements
- Respond to general stakeholder enquiries and provide basic technical information
- Maintain accurate documentation and records to support risk-based decision making
- Contribute to a positive team environment and assist with onboarding or guiding new staff where required
Essential Requirements
- Current unrestricted C Class Driver's Licence
- Diploma in a related field from a recognised tertiary institution
- Practical experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, smart mobile devices and GPS equipment
Highly Desirable
- First Aid Certificate
- Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control (ACDC) Licence
- Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance)
- Certificate IV in Compliance and Risk Management
