We are seeking a Workshop Technician to join our State Government client based in Toowoomba. This is a casual full-time opportunity through to September, with the potential for extension.
The role supports the production and fit-out of mobile response trailers through hands-on workshop work, equipment installation, basic low-voltage wiring, painting, and general maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the assembly, modification, and fit-out of mobile response trailers.
- Perform basic fabrication tasks such as measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembling components.
- Carry out painting and finishing work on trailers and related equipment.
- Complete low-voltage wiring, basic electronic tasks, and equipment installations.
- Operate workshop equipment and hand tools, including grinders, saws, drill presses, and other general workshop machinery.
- Conduct general workshop maintenance and housekeeping duties.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Support other workshop activities as required.
- Experience in a workshop, maintenance, assembly, or trade assistant environment.
- Exposure to basic fabrication, mechanical assembly, or maintenance tasks.
- Experience using hand tools and workshop machinery.
- Basic low-voltage wiring or electrical installation experience is desirable.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
- A current C-Class Driver Licence.
