AWX is currently seeking an experienced Yard Person to join a well-established and respected building materials manufacturer based in Cairns. This is a casual potential ongoing opportunity offering stable Monday to Friday hours with an immediate start for the right candidate . Working within a busy production and distribution environment , you'll play an important role in ensuring products are safely handled, prepared and loaded for dispatch while maintaining a clean and organised yard.
What you'll do
- Pick, pack and stack concrete bricks and masonry products onto pallets
- Operate a forklift to move products safely throughout the yard
- Load and unload trucks while ensuring safe handling practices
- Assist with general yard duties, housekeeping and maintaining a safe work environment
What you'll need
- Current High Risk Forklift Licence
- Minimum 2 to 3 years' forklift operating experience
- Previous experience working in a yard, warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling in an outdoor environment
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
