    A mining dump truck driver salary can vary depending on a number of factors including the location and size of the mine, level of experience of the diver and the requirements and responsibilities of the job.  

  • Will getting operating tickets help me to get into the mining industry?

    The answer is no, having a ticket without at least six months or greater experience won’t be beneficial to help you to get into the mining industry. Obtaining tickets are expensive, and the training hours undertaken to obtain these ticks are not classed as operating experience.  

  • How to get into the mining industry?

    Starting out in the mines can be challenging, however, a new to industry intake doesn’t require any specific skills, tickets or licenses. There is no magic formula to make your application stand out. There are a few things that will help your application: resume, ensure you’re contactable and transferrable experience from other industries.  

  • What qualifications do I need to become a skilled operator in the mines?

    To become a skilled operator in the mines you typically need specific training and certification to operate the heavy machinery used in this industry. This machinery may include dump trucks, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and more. 

  • How to become a dump truck driver in the mines?

    If you have no operating experience in dump trucks, searching and applying for New To Industry (NTI), Trainee, green skin, or cleanskin Dump Truck Jobs is recommended.  

  • What types of heavy machinery can I operate as a multi-skilled operator?

    As a multi-skilled operator in the mining industry, you may operate a variety of heavy machinery which will depend on your training, experience, and the requirements of the mining operation. Some common types of heavy machinery that multi-skilled operators operate include dump trucks, excavators, loaders, grazers, bulldozers, scrapers, water trucks and Moxy Trucks.
